Are you looking at me?
Sometimes it is along. Sometimes it’s against. Sometimes a certainty can suddenly disappear and the world is turned upside down. Sometimes forced release causes a stream of new things to deal with.
It happens to so many people. And now it happened to me: I was fired in August this year after decades of faithful service. Worked hard, achieved a lot, received a lot of appreciation, nice colleagues. But eventually escorted to the door to not be allowed to come back.
I would like to take you into how I experienced that. What it did to me and still does. What it has brought me. I’m lucky that I have a tool with art to show my feelings. So I used art to give all that stuff a place.
And you, you can watch! Literally over my shoulder. With a series of blogs, I want to take you on my journey. From the shock, the disappointment and anger, through inertia to the resignation and reflection. I hope to be able to support my fellow sufferers and give it a good place for me.
In the weekend of 15 and 16 December I show a number of works that I have made in this context. Call it project Ex. On Saturday 15 December I will be exhibiting from 13:00 to 20:30 and Sunday 16 December from 10:00 to 16:00. You are most welcome in one of the rooms of De Litserborg, Litsterstraat 2, Den Dungen, the Netherlands.
Will you visit the exhibition? And are you looking with me, over my shoulder, in the coming weeks?
